In preparing students to become the confident leaders of tomorrow, the Academy offers many opportunities and programs for participating cadets. Our goal is to build well-rounded young leaders. Cadets receive academic support, enjoy guest lectures, discuss current events, attend social functions, and participate in community and civic projects alike. We go on field trips to visit various institutions such as government and community agencies, symphonic performances, museums, schools, and more, and these trips often include leaving the Blount County area. The Academy also connects Blount County’s youth with the business sector, and cadets have the opportunity to get a sense of what leadership in business looks like.
Throughout the school year, incentives are offered to cadets to reach perfect school attendance and honor roll status. At the end of each school year, an Annual Academic Awards Banquet is sponsored to recognize academic achievement, school attendance, and other accomplishments. The Academy also holds the Annual Kramer Summer Leadership Conference at Maryville College. Cadets must earn the right to attend both the Academic Awards Banquet and the Kramer Summer Leadership Conference.
